Posted by on 12th September 2017

The organisers of the Lincoln Half Marathon have confirmed that it is not too late to sign up to the race on Sunday 1st October 2017.

With just under three weeks until race day, standard entries are now closed but late entries are being accepted until 25th September. It is a fantastic chance for anyone who is race fit to run an early autumn race in a stunning setting and earn an impressive medal.

Anyone entering the Lincoln Half Marathon from now until 24th September will need to collect their race pack from Lincolnshire Showground the day before the race, and should be aware that their name will not be printed on the race number.

They will join the runners already signed up to run the closed-road race through historic Lincoln, and can look forward to an attractive course that covers the vibrant harbour of Brayford Wharf and the magnificent sights of Lincoln Castle and the medieval Cathedral.

For any runners looking for a weekend away with family or friends, the race is a perfect excuse to spend a few days in a beautiful location and enjoy all that Lincoln has to offer. Its rich history, vibrant culture, architecture and unique shopping opportunities make the city an ideal destination for runners as well as for all non-runners coming along to support.

The Lincoln Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Lincolnshire Showground, which makes an excellent venue for the race village. The site offers ample space and on-site parking and is a lively race hub with plenty of food, drink and entertainment options for runners and spectators.

Race Director Iain Hamilton commented: “The countdown is really on now for the Lincoln Half Marathon and we are very much looking forward to welcoming runners of all abilities to this beautiful race in historic Lincoln. The course passes the magnificent landmarks of the Cathedral and Castle and has a definite ‘wow’ factor, both for local and visiting athletes. We are accepting late entries until 25th September and hope that many runners will take the opportunity to register for this professional and friendly autumn event, with the promise of a great medal!”

The Lincoln Half Marathon starts at 9.30am on Sunday 1st October and entry costs £32 affiliated / £34 non-affiliated. The race supports two official charities, Cancer Research UK and local charity The Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation.

The very first Lincoln Half Marathon Corporate Challenge takes place on the same day and is a great opportunity for local businesses to fundraise, get fit and have fun team building. Entry costs £150 for a team of five, and Corporate Challenge teams can also register until 25th September.
