City of Nottingham Triathlon

Experience closed roads racing alongside the River Trent on Nottingham’s famous Victoria Embankment. This is an exciting and brand new event, which is linked to the new, televised British Triathlon Elite Mixed Relay event. The event is aimed at mainly novices athletes, with the speeders separated from the newbies by virtue of their swim entry times.

The triathlon involves a 300m pool swim, 12km flat - very safe bike ride on closed roads, and a flat 3km run. It’s guaranteed to be a friendly introduction to the sport if you’ve not done many triathlons, and it will be a super fun sprint for everyone who takes part. The swim takes place in a 30.3metre pool, so you’ll need to cover 10 lengths before grabbing your bike and heading for the Embankment where the bike and run set up will also be used by the elite athletes later in the day. This distance can also be entered as a relay team.

This will be a top-notch, professionally run event with electronic timing, unique finishers t-shirts and a first for Nottinghamshire with closed roads being offered. Don’t miss this unique and exciting challenge!

There will also be a shorter distance GO TRI event, this is for those wanting to try their first triathlon, but wish to take part in a shorter, non competitive event. The distance will be approx. 200metre swim, 6km bike and a 1.5km run.

British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup

Not only will Nottingham host the super sprint and sprint distance City of Nottingham Triathlon but it will also be hosting Britain's newest and most exciting triathlon event on Saturday 2nd September 2017. Featuring top Olympic triathletes such as the Brownlee Brothers and Jodie Stimpson, teams of four athletes will compete against each other at Nottingham's Victoria Embankment.

Each athlete will complete a short and fast triathlon before handing over to their team mate for the next leg, all in front of thousands of spectators. Grandstand tickets will give you a prime position to watch the athletes as they swim, cycle and run their way around the course, giving ticket holders an exclusive view of the transition areas, finish line and the final presentations.
